FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Why was Future.Engaged founded?
Survivors of childhood cancer are a growing in number and are an underserved population with complex complications of physical, neuropsychological, learning and emotional effects from their cancer and its treatment. Adolescent and young adults are in a developmental stage already defined by concerns about looks, relationships and independence and combined with the experience of cancer survival can be overwhelming. Our niche experience helps young adults transition to adulthood.
Is the transition program covered by insurance?
Currently, Future.Engaged services are not covered by insurance. We provide a consultative fee schedule and will review payment once a plan is developed.
How long is the program?
Length of the program varies by student. A certified, educational diagnostician identifies barriers, creates a tailored program and facilitates that specifically designed program for the individual. Session need is based on the individual goals and progression of each student.
Where and when do sessions occur?
Due to COVID-19, all Future.Engaged services are currently handled virtually. Sessions are scheduled at the convenience of the student and can occur weekly or periodically, based upon needs and goals.
