April 5-11, 2021 is Adolescent and Young Adult Cancer Awareness Week.  Awareness is critical for survivors, their families as well as the larger community. There are 70,000 young adults (age 15-39) who are diagnosed with cancer each year. As survivors whose transition to adult life was disrupted, their needs are different than either younger children or those whose adult lives were firmly established.  Resources, processes, and especially awareness, are critical.
